West Broad Village to operate outdoor ice skating venue ‘The Rink’

West Broad Village again will open The Rink, an outdoor ice skating venue at 3939 Duckling Drive in Glen Allen, this holiday season. The venue will open Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. and will operate daily (weather permitting) through Jan. 29, 2017, including holidays. The ACE Center at Hermitage High School, 8301 Hungary Spring Rd., will sell poinsettias and other decorations for the holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 7-8. Poinsettias, including Polly Pink, Prestige Pink, Maran, Snow Cap, Glitter and Jingle Bells, are in 6.5-inch pots and cost $8 each. Other items for sale include fresh green wreaths, 18-inch and 24-inch centerpieces, swags, tender succulents, paper whites ($5) and large Amaryllis ($15). Henrico Pops Chorus to present “A Holiday Concert (sort of)” at Henrico Theatre

The Henrico Pops Chorus will present “A Holiday Concert (sort of)” at 7:30 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre in Highland Springs. This holiday program will take the audience through the process of preparing for a concert – the rehearsal, a party at home and the concert. Musical selections include variations on some familiar traditional holiday songs, ethnic and current interpretations for the season and several offerings new to local holiday concerts. All ages.
