Henrico PAL’s annual awards banquet

Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL) will hold its eighth-annual awards banquet March 30 at Glen Allen H.S. The event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., is open to the public and will include recognition of individuals and organizations responsible for Henrico PAL’s 10 years of success in the community. Keynote speaker for the event is the new University of Richmond Spiders Head Football Coach Russ Huseman. National PAL Executive Director Joseph Persichini and former Henrico PAL and 2011 National PAL Youth of the Year winner Aubrey Temple are also scheduled to speak. American Legion Post 233 in Varina to present the Cruisin’ Car Show

American Legion Post 233, 8088 Recreation Rd. in Varina, will present the Cruisin’ Car Show from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Classic cars, antiques, bikes and motorcycles are invited to take a ride on Route 5. There are no registration fees. Judging will be by popular vote. Hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks will be for sale to benefit veteran’s organizations. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will present the last “Flowers After 5” event of 2017. Stroll through the gardens and enjoy live music from the Adrian Duke Project, as well as family activities, wine and beer, dining and shopping. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
