Summer Nature Series at Three Lakes Nature Center to highlight turtles

The Summer Nature Series at Three Lakes Nature Center, 400 Sausiluta Dr., concludes with “The Nature of Turtles” from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Nature center staff will open the classroom doors to visitors and share a variety of items from the nature collections. Eclipse-viewing parties planned at Glen Allen, Libbie Mill, North Park, Twin Hickory, Varina libraries

Thanks to the NASA @ My Library program, the Glen Allen, Libbie Mill, North Park, Twin Hickory and Varina libraries will host free eclipse-viewing parties and distribute free eclipse-viewing classes while supplies last from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A solar eclipse will occur that day. Henrico residents of all ages can learn about the science behind eclipses and pick up a pair of glasses to safely view the eclipse. Limited quantities of these safety glasses will be available to the public at all Henrico County Public Library locations, and distribution may be restricted to one pair of glasses per family if demand is overwhelming. West Broad Village’s Movies on the Lawn to show “The Princess Bride”

West Broad Village will host Movies on the Lawn starting around 9 p.m. at “The Pad” next to Aloft. The movie will be “The Princess Bride.” Bring a blanket or lawn chair.
