Lewis Ginter to present Flowers After 5 on Thursday evenings through September

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will present Flowers After 5 on Thursday evenings through September. Stroll through the gardens and enjoy live music from blues harmonica player and vocalist Bruce Ewan, as well as family activities, wine and beer, dining and shopping. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. The Garden partners with the Richmond SPCA on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month for Fidos After 5 where leashed pets are allowed. Greater Richmond SCAN to sponsor screening of the documentary “Resilience”

Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now) will sponsor a screening of the documentary “Resilience: The Biology of Stress, and the Science of Hope” from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Room 164. “Resilience,” the companion film to “Paper Tigers,” chronicles the birth of a new movement among pediatricians, therapists, educators and communities, who are using cutting-edge brain science to disrupt cycles of violence, addiction and disease. CAT Theatre, 319 N. Wilkinson Rd., will launch its new kids’ camp, “KIT’NS: Kids In Theatre ‘N Stagecraft,” from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 10-14. Campers will learn theatre games and the rudiments of stage combat, explore several dramatic styles, learn costume and stage design and will perform for family and friends in the evening of the final day of camp. An additional camp will be held July 31 to Aug. 4. While the structure and activities will be the same, each camp is unique. For ages 8-14. Cost is $250 per camper per week; siblings are $225.
