Henrico County to host Time Travelers Weekend at historic sites

Get your “passport” and time-travel through Henrico history by visiting historic sites during Time Travelers Weekend Sept. 23-24 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participating sites include: Dabbs House Museum, Meadow Farm Museum, Walkerton Tavern, Virginia Randolph Museum, Courtney Road Gas Station, Clarke-Palmore House Museum and Deep Run School House. Rockin’ Rehab with LuLaRoe & Friends planned at Richmond Raceway

Rockin' Rehab with LuLaRoe & Friends will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway Complex. Vendors include LuLaRoe, Scentsy, Rodan + Fields, Thirty-One, Younique, Paparazzi and more. The event is to benefit Caritas and the local chapter in Richmond, “The Healing Place.” There will also be door prizes, giveaways, a 50/50 raffle, food trucks, and 107.3 will be broadcasting live. East Richmond Beekeepers Assoc. to present ‘Beginning Beekeeping’ at Varina Library

The East Richmond Beekeepers Association will answer all your beekeeping questions at “Beginning Beekeeping” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Varina Library. The Compassionate Friends RVA, a group for families grieving the death of a child, will hold its annual Walk to Remember from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Robious Middle School, 2801 Robious Crossing Dr. in Midlothian. The Walk to Remember is held rain or shine, and welcomes all members of the community wishing to honor the memory of anyone who has been loved and lost, whether mom, dad, grandparent, friend, coworker, neighbor, teacher, mentor or fellow church member.

Check-in and same-day registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. In addition to the two-mile walk, the program includes guest speaker Anna Whiston-Donaldson, the NY Times best-selling author of “Rare Bird: A Memoir of Loss and Love.” Other activities include a dove release, Caring Canines therapy dogs, picnic-style lunch, bereavement resources, and a memory booth (bring a photo to share).

The registration fee is $25 per walker age 13 or older, and includes a walking bib and one lunch. Children 12 and under may walk (and eat) for free.
