Free music camp for grades 3-6 planned at Corinth UMC July 18-20

A free music camp will take place July 18-20 at Corinth United Methodist Church, 23 W. Williamsburg Rd. Students in grades 3-6 will learn hand drumming techniques and explore rhythms and world music through the playing of the cajon, a box drum. Class size is limited. The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day. Registration is required by July 7. Act!vated Story Theatre to perform “Hammer, Nail, Tell a Tale” at HCPL July 17-19

Professional acting troupe Act!vated Story Theatre will perform “Hammer, Nail, Tell a Tale” at all Henrico libraries: July 17 – 10:30 a.m. at Gayton, 2:30 p.m. at Libbie Mill and 6:30 p.m. at Tuckahoe; July 18 – 10:30 a.m. at North Park, 2:30 p.m. at Twin Hickory and 6:30 p.m. at Glen Allen; and July 19 – 10:30 a.m. at Sandston, 2:30 p.m. at Fairfield and 6:30 p.m. at Varina. This is HCPL’s featured Children’s Summer Reading event. The show will last 45 minutes and feature witty scripts, costumes, imaginative props, music, song and dance, masks and puppets, nonstop action, American Sign Language, physical comedy and audience participation. Glen Allen Library to host “Revved Up Recycling”

Build a better world, starting at the local level, at “Revved Up Recycling” from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Glen Allen Library. Denise Ritchie, Central Virginia's recycling education specialist, explores recycling fundamentals and caring for the environment in an interactive and fun program.
