CACGA to hold grand opening for its new exhibit “Hyperrealism: Beyond the Photograph”

The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen will hold a grand opening for its new exhibit “Hyperrealism: Beyond the Photograph” by Sharon Guyton Lalik from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Lalik paints ordinary, everyday objects as if they themselves are one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Weinstein JCC, VCIC to present “Martin: His Life, His Love, His Legacy”

The Weinstein JCC, in partnership with the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, will present “Martin: His Life, His Love, His Legacy” at 3 p.m. The production, which was written by Richmonder Valerie Davis, explores the “real” life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., while also spotlighting the Jewish connection to the civil rights movement. A panel discussion follows the performance, moderated by VCIC President and CEO Jonathan Zur. Tickets are $15 for non-members and $10 for members. Mothers Against Drunk Driving will present its annual Walk Like MADD 5k Dash/Walk on Apr. 16 at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road. Check-in starts at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. Walk Like MADD honors those killed or injured in impaired driving crashes.
