Lakeside Avenue to present the bike festival “Pedal & Gears”

Lakeside Avenue will present the bike festival Pedal & Gears starting at 9:30 a.m. The event will begin with a free family-friendly bike ride hosted by Bike Walk Northside. Riders should gather at 9 a.m. in front of the businesses on MacArthur Avenue in the Bellevue neighborhood. The ride is approximately 2.5 miles, traveling through Bryan Park and ultimately ending at the heart of the festival activities at the Lakeside Farmer's Market. In addition to live music, food and area shop specials, there will also be events by Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, I AM RVA, Sports Backers, Henrico County and more. Rain or shine. 7th annual CASA Superhero Run planned at St. Joseph’s Villa
April 30 2016 - All participants are encouraged to run in the costume of a favorite superhero character, 9 a.m.,
The Henrico County and Chesterfield County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) organizations will hold the seventh annual Superhero Run to support local programs for abused and neglected children. The event, which includes a 5K, a Kids’ Fun Run and a post-race fair, will be held at St. Joseph’s Villa. All participants are encouraged to run in the costume of a favorite superhero character. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes and top finishers. Activities will begin with the Kids’ Fun Run at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 9:30 a.m. and a post-race fair. Wegmans exhibits open April 30 at CMoR

All Richmond-area Children’s Museum of Richmond locations will unveil their newly-renovated grocery store exhibits on Saturday.
A Wegmans gift of $150,000, comprised of cash and in-kind donations, has allowed the museum to renovate its grocery store exhibits and will support CMoR’s 35th anniversary. The refreshed stores will offer pint-sized shoppers a true Wegmans shopping experience complete with play foods, mini grocery carts, check-out counters, and café tables, offering just a "little" taste of what's to come when Wegmans opens their Short Pump and Midlothian locations later this year.
Those arriving between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. will receive goodie bags filled with healthy, kid-friendly foods, while supplies last. In addition, they will have an opportunity to register for an exclusive VIP meet-and-greet with Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer when she visits CMoR’s Central location on Saturday, May 7.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving will present its annual Walk Like MADD 5k Dash/Walk on Apr. 16 at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road.
