The 8th annual Richmond Out of the Darkness Community Walk will take place rain or shine at Deep Run Park at 9 a.m. The walk route is just short of three miles. The opening ceremony will take place in the field beside the lake. An after-walk family picnic will be held until 1 p.m. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome. The Virginia Hemophilia Foundation’s 2017 VHF Trick or Trot 5K and Fun Walk will start at 9 a.m. at Robious Landing Park, Shelter 3, in Midlothian. There will be a 5K course, a quick one-mile route and the Monster Dash, a 100-yard fun run for kids 12 and under. Costumes are highly encouraged. A pre-race Halloween party will feature a DJ, food and more.
