The Autism Society of Central Virginia 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8 a.m. at the Snagajob Pavilion in Innsbrook, 4901 Lake Brook Dr. The family-friendly race includes entertainment, food, exhibitors and an expanded Kid’s Fun Zone with a 50-yard dash. Richmond Area Bicycling Association to host group ‘New Rider Ride’

June 01 2013 - The no-drop, beginner friendly ride will begin at Laurel Park Shopping Center, 8 a.m., Free
The Richmond Area Bicycling Association (RABA) will host a group “New Rider Ride” to assist new or returning cyclists in learning group ride safety and increasing fitness levels at 8 a.m. The no-drop, beginner friendly ride will begin at Laurel Park Shopping Center (Parham and Woodman roads), and travel 20 miles round trip, with a rest stop at Ashland Coffee and Tea. Be The Match Walk+Run to take place in Innsbrook

June 01 2013 - The event includes a 5K, 1K and Tot Trot for children five and under, 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.,
The Be The Match Walk+Run, a fundraising event to help patients that need bone marrow transplants find a matching marrow donor, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in North Shore Commons in Innsbrook, 4951 Lake Brook Dr. The event includes a 5K, 1K and Tot Trot for children five and under. Raiders help ‘Stir It Up!’

Spirited Art Richmond held a painting class May 5 for Hanover Habitat for Humanity families to paint their own artwork as a final touch for their new homes. Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump

Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare
After nearly a year out of the restaurant industry, a well known 30-year Henrico restaurateur is ready to open up his fifth venture in Short Pump.

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.

Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.

Popular Short Pump spot offers upscale comfort, flavors
The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
