The event is a celebration of spring with millions of blooms throughout the spring season including daffodils, cherry blossoms, tulips, irises, roses and peonies. Henrico Theatre Company will present “Das Barbecü” May 3-19 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. Wagner’s Ring Cycle is spun as a witty Texas fable with five actors playing more than 30 outrageous characters at breakneck speed. Songs run the gamut from Broadway to Texas swing, from jazz to country western. Thursday through Saturday performances are at 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors age 55 and older. The Mirror Mode Movement 3M Walk and Women’s Health Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave. The 3M is hoping to unite girls and women and help put a stop to bullying, jealousy, hate, cliques and crime, while also providing women’s health awareness. Women’s groups, mentoring organizations, health clubs, beauty shops, corporate offices, families and sororities are invited. There will be a women's forum with Dr. Johnson-Threat and Kimberly Pinna, RN from Bon Secours Hospitals. Walgreens will be conducting free health screenings. DRMD hopes to hit million-dollar mark

Deep Run High School’s 2013 Marathon Dance, a student-run function that aims to raise money for organizations around the community, will be held March 15-16 in the school’s gymnasium. In its seven-year history, the dance has raised more than $863,000, and this year the students’ goal is to break the $1 million mark.
