American Legion Post 125, located at 1401 Hilliard Rd., will hold a dance with a live band every Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Snacks and coffee are provided; drinks are available for purchase. The Innsbrook Foundation and Innsbrook Rotary will present the first Innsbrook Taste of Virginia, a food festival showcasing delicious dishes from local restaurants, each competing for the honorary “Taste of Virginia” title, as well as awards for other significant categories. The event starts at 3:30 p.m. with the tastings and competition from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and fireworks around 9:15 p.m. to end the day. There will also be a Kidzone with two moon bounces, vendors and live music. Proceeds support FeedMore. Rain date is July 3. “Red, White, and Lights” Fourth of July Celebration planned at Meadow Farm

Henrico County Recreation and Parks will present “Red, White, and Lights” at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park. The free event begins at 4:30 p.m. and will feature the Richmond Symphony, a laser-light show, patriotic performances, and family activities. A Henrico County 4th of July Celebration has taken place annually since 1981, but this year’s event will offer a later start time, expanded hours, and be highlighted by new entertainment. The Richmond Symphony and laser-light show will mark the finale of the event. The symphony will perform under “The Big Tent,” a state-of-the-art mobile stage that allows the orchestra to take its music out into the local communities. The Virginia Home for Boys & Girls Youth Triathlon will take place Aug. 20 at VHBG, 8716 W. Broad St. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. with the first wave (for ages 5-9) kicking off at 8 a.m. Family Fun Day activities start at 9 a.m. and include pool, bounce house, dunk tank, DJ/karaoke, bubble soccer and food trucks. An optional four-day Youth Triathlon Camp will be held Monday, Aug. 15 to Thursday, Aug. 18. All proceeds benefit the children at VHBG. Race fee donation includes race, t-shirt and post-race snacks. Tuckahoe YMCA to host Refugee Community Resource Fair


The Tuckahoe Family YMCA and ReEstablish Richmond will host the third-annual Refugee Community Resource Fair Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to noon at the YMCA, 9211 Patterson Avenue in Henrico. The event is designed to provide refugees in the region information about jobs, local businesses, housing, health care, education and more.

As part of its strategic plan, the YMCA of Greater Richmond works to identify, address and eliminate economic, geographic and cultural barriers. > Read more.

Muse Paintbar opens at Willow Lawn


Muse Paintbar, which combines painting instruction with a wine bar and restaurant, opened June 23 at The Shops at Willow Lawn in Henrico. The location is the company's 17th nationwide.

Guests can learn from local artists while sampling a wide selection of wine, beer and tapas. The facility held a soft-launch last weekend, allowing patrons a sneak peek at the studio’s artistic offerings.
