Celebrate Fatherhood

First Things First of Greater Richmond will host Celebrate Fatherhood – a free event for families – in collaboration with the Richmond Kickers, the Collegiate School Aquatics Center and Chesterfield County on June 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Ukrop Park at the new Collegiate School Aquatics Center in Chesterfield, Va. at 5300 Ridgedale Parkway, Richmond, VA 23234. Kids of all ages and their families will enjoy field games, bounce houses, food trucks, an indoor swimming pool, putt-putt, soccer and more. Raiders help ‘Stir It Up!’

Spirited Art Richmond held a painting class May 5 for Hanover Habitat for Humanity families to paint their own artwork as a final touch for their new homes. Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump

Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare
After nearly a year out of the restaurant industry, a well known 30-year Henrico restaurateur is ready to open up his fifth venture in Short Pump.

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.

Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.

Popular Short Pump spot offers upscale comfort, flavors
The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
