The 4th annual Basketball Skill Development Academy returns to Varina High School June 19-22. The camp, directed by Coach Andrew Lacey, Varina’s head men’s basketball coach, is for rising third through ninth graders (ages 7-15). The academy will focus on individual player development, teamwork, court awareness, basketball knowledge and sportsmanship. Campers will be divided into different divisions and will compete within their own division unless otherwise requested. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Tuition is $60. Latin Ballet to present its Arts in Education Summer Day Camp at CACGA

The Henricus Historical Park’s Discovery Day Program Series starts with “Children of Arrohateck: Learn about the lives of the youngest Powhatan Indians.” The program, designed for children ages 3-10, is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities will include a story, short tour and activities in the historic site, and a make-and-take craft. Stay as little or as long as you like. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The series continues July 27 and Aug. 24. Admission is $10 per child and $7 per adult. Campers will learn theatre games and the rudiments of stage combat, explore several dramatic styles, learn costume and stage design and will perform for family and friends in the evening of the final day of camp. Additional camps will be held July 10-14 and July 31 to Aug. 4. While the structure and activities will be the same, each camp is unique. For ages 8-14.
