National Preppers and Survivalists Expo planned at RRC May 7-8

The National Preppers and Survivalists Expo, a two-day event focusing on the preparedness, self-reliance, supplies and survival skills that are crucial when a catastrophe strikes, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 7-8 at Richmond Raceway Complex. Innsbrook Wellness Forum to present “Skin Cancer Prevention & Care”

The Innsbrook Wellness Forum will present “Skin Cancer Prevention & Care” on Thursday, May 12 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Markel, 4501 Highwoods Pkwy., Carpenter Room B. Speaker is Patricia Corrigan, PharmD, BCOP. Corrigan is a clinical pharmacy specialist in hematology/oncology with VCU Medical Center and assistant clinical professor at VCU School of Pharmacy. May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Admission is free and open to the public. A free light lunch will be provided for those who register in advance. The Innsbrook Wellness Committee provides an avenue of information by promoting fitness, nutrition and educational opportunities. Walking MADD


Mothers Against Drunk Driving will present its annual Walk Like MADD 5k Dash/Walk on Apr. 16 at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road. Check-in starts at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. Walk Like MADD honors those killed or injured in impaired driving crashes. FamFest planned for April 9


Henrico's Division of Recreation & Parks will host FamFest from 1 p.m. 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at Deep Run Park.

The family event will begin with a giant ball drop and will feature colossal obstacle courses and mega-moon bounces as well as family "minute to win it" games and friendly competitions. Watch as the nationally-renowned Air Elite Dunkers leap their way into spring in the gym or get your groove on with music from Trademark or the dance troupe Future Shock. > Read more.
