SBA Offers Boots to Business: Reboot Trainings May 2-3

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Richmond District Office has announced an upcoming “Boots to Business: Reboot” training opportunity on May 2-3 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The entrepreneurship training, for veterans and their spouses, is a two-day course introducing business ownership fundamentals.

During the events, participants learn the key steps of evaluating business concepts and developing a business plan. The program introduces veterans and their spouses to a network of lifetime business support available through SBA’s network, including Veteran Business Outreach Centers, Small Business Development Centers and SCORE Counselors.

Walking MADD


Mothers Against Drunk Driving will present its annual Walk Like MADD 5k Dash/Walk on Apr. 16 at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Road. Check-in starts at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. Walk Like MADD honors those killed or injured in impaired driving crashes. FamFest planned for April 9


Henrico's Division of Recreation & Parks will host FamFest from 1 p.m. 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at Deep Run Park.

The family event will begin with a giant ball drop and will feature colossal obstacle courses and mega-moon bounces as well as family "minute to win it" games and friendly competitions. Watch as the nationally-renowned Air Elite Dunkers leap their way into spring in the gym or get your groove on with music from Trademark or the dance troupe Future Shock. > Read more.

CAT Theatre announces its 53rd season


CAT Theatre will present four shows during its 53rd season, which begins this fall. All four shows will be Richmond-area premieres, including one world premiere by a local playwright.

The season will feature:
