Henrico, PGA TOUR to hold Information Session for River Road corridor residents

Henricus Historical Park to hold third annual Naturalization Ceremony

Henricus Historical Park will host its third annual Naturalization Ceremony from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nearly 60 people will become new United States citizens. Henricus welcomes any citizens who were previously naturalized at the park, and their families, to join in the celebration with all-day free admission to the historic site. The ceremony also is free and open to the public.

Henrico County Drug Court Alumni 5k planned at Deep Run Park

The Henrico County Drug Court will sponsor an inaugural 5k run/walk event to support the continued recovery of its participants and graduates. The 5k will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Deep Run Park, 9900 Ridgefield Pkwy., and will include face painting, music, a bounce house, silent auction and other family fun. The race will start at 9 a.m. The cost to participate is $25, or $15 using the online promotion code HENRICO, plus processing fees. The event will be part of a national recognition of September as Recovery Month. The 9th annual Short Pump Mile and Short Pump Express Fun Run, Richmond’s largest timed road race just for kids, will start at 7:30 a.m. in front of American Family Fitness in Short Pump. All participants will receive a race t-shirt, medal and refreshments. Awards will be given to age group and overall winners. The Short Pump Express, a 400-Meter Fun Run (non-timed), is offered to children age five and younger who aren't quite up to tackling the mile. The School Participation Competition will award the top five schools with the most participants a total of $2,000 to be used for their physical education programs; new this year – all schools with 25 or more registered runners will earn $100.
