Henrico County will offer a free home maintenance workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the former Dumbarton Library at 6800 Staples Mill Rd. The topic will be “Weatherization and Maintenance” and will teach attendees about seasonal activities, such as cleaning gutters, washing siding and maintaining heating systems. It also will address how to take care of major appliances and prevent dangerous situations. There will be hands-on demonstrations, exhibits and light refreshments. Local pipeline, gas distribution companies to host pipeline safety, awareness program

Local pipeline and gas distribution companies will host a pipeline safety and awareness program to train first responders at 5:30 p.m. at The Tin Pin, 8982 Quioccasin Rd. The event will include a complimentary meal and incident exercise for first responders in the community. First responder training will be provided at no cost. The pipeline and gas companies are working to establish the communication network needed to effectively manage an emergency situation. Continuing education credits may be awarded to attendees.
