Clothos Handspinners will demonstrate, teach and offer you a chance to try your hand at processing wool from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Compare the sheep shorn with electric shears to those sheared by hand. Henricus to re-create the 1781 Battle of Osborne’s Landing Apr. 22-23

Revolutionary War re-enactors in their American and British encampments will re-create the 1781 Battle of Osborne’s Landing at Henricus Historical Park Apr. 22-23. This battle is when Major General William Phillips ordered British forces, which included Benedict Arnold, to attack the supplies of the Virginia State Navy and Virginia Militia. During this attack, most of the Virginia State Navy fleet was destroyed. Visitors will experience militia drills and artillery demos. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children 3-12 and free for Henricus Patrons. For details, visit http://www.henricus.org.

Museum District Association to host annual Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour

The Museum District Association’s 23rd annual Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The tour provides a rare opportunity for guests to go inside some of Richmond’s most beautiful and historic homes, gardens and institutions. The hospitality center is located at the Virginia Historical Society. A tour trolley will run continuously between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tour proceeds benefit non-profit agencies in the Richmond area and help protect and beautify this historic neighborhood.
