Twin Hickory Library to host electronics recycling event

Twin Hickory Library will host an electronics recycling event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The following items are accepted at no charge: computer systems and accessories, printers, scanners and copiers, fax machines, VCRs, camcorders, stereos and microwave ovens. There is a $10 fee to recycle CRT televisions less than 27 inches; the fee is $20 for televisions larger than 27 inches. Items that cannot be accepted include fluorescent light bulbs (tubes or CFLs), refrigerators, dehumidifiers or air conditioners. The second annual Innsbrook Taste of Virginia will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Innsbrook Pavilion, 4901 Lakebrook Dr. Taste of Virginia is a family-friendly food festival showcasing delicious dishes from local restaurants, each competing for the honorary “Taste of Virginia” title, as well as awards for other significant categories. Each restaurant competitor will be providing a $3 sample plate of their signature dish from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as additional menu items for purchase during the festival. Enjoy live music by Whiskey Rebellion, Soul Expressions and The Silver Bullets. There will also be an artisan market with craft vendors and local businesses, a Kid’s Zone with moon bounces and corn hole, and the evening will conclude with fireworks.
