Henrico CASA to host 11th annual benefit art exhibition, silent auction

Henrico County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will host its 11th annual benefit art exhibition and silent auction from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Crossroads Art Center, 2016 Staples Mill Rd. While viewing the “Into the Woods” all-media exhibition, guests will be able to learn from artists about what inspires their work. Second annual Trey’s Avengers Cornhole Tournament planned at Hurley’s Tavern in Innsbrook

The second annual Trey’s Avengers Cornhole Tournament will take place at 1 p.m. at Hurley’s Tavern in Innsbrook. The tournament is a 32-team double-elimination cornhole tournament with all entry fees going to juvenile diabetes research. Two players per team. Entry fee is $50 per team. Each player will receive a drink ticket good for a beer, rail drink or soda. Prizes will be given to first and second place winners. Compassionate Friends RVA to hold its annual Walk to Remember in Midlothian

The Compassionate Friends RVA, a group for families grieving the death of a child, will hold its annual Walk to Remember from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Robious Middle School, 2801 Robious Crossing Dr. in Midlothian. The Walk to Remember is held rain or shine, and welcomes all members of the community wishing to honor the memory of anyone who has been loved and lost, whether mom, dad, grandparent, friend, coworker, neighbor, teacher, mentor or fellow church member.

Check-in and same-day registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. In addition to the two-mile walk, the program includes guest speaker Anna Whiston-Donaldson, the NY Times best-selling author of “Rare Bird: A Memoir of Loss and Love.” Other activities include a dove release, Caring Canines therapy dogs, picnic-style lunch, bereavement resources, and a memory booth (bring a photo to share).

The registration fee is $25 per walker age 13 or older, and includes a walking bib and one lunch. Children 12 and under may walk (and eat) for free.

GA5K, Glen Allen Day planned at Crump Park/Meadow Farm
