Gordon, a Richmond native, began his volunteer experience with the American Red Cross while a student at Thomas Jefferson High School. In July 2007, his career came full circle, when he became the chief executive officer of the Greater Richmond Chapter. HCPS to hold a teacher hiring event at Glen Allen High School

February 20 2016 - Registration ends Feb. 10, 9 a.m., Free
Henrico County Public Schools will hold a teacher hiring event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. HCPS is seeking teachers for all content areas, as well as school counselors, librarians, psychologists and social workers. Staff members will be on hand from the human resources department, and individual schools will have representatives on hand to talk with interested applicants. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resumes to share with school administrators. The event will be held at Glen Allen High School. Architect of World Trade Center Memorial to speak in Henrico


Michael Arad, the architect of the World Trade Center Memorial, will be the keynote speaker for The 2016 Adolf-Adams JCC Forum on Sat., Jan. 30, 2016 at 7:30 p.m., at the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center in Henrico.

Arad’s “Reflecting Absence” architectural design was selected from more than 5,000 competitive entries as the template for the Memorial’s construction in New York City. During the forum, Arad will discuss the significance and symbolism of the design, as well as his inspiration. Western Henrico Rotary Club makes Thanksgiving donation to Coal Pit families


Members of the Western Henrico Rotary Club (WHRC) celebrated Thanksgiving a few days early on Nov. 23, making their annual donation of turkey dinners to 28 Coal Pit Learning Center families.
