The Eastern Henrico Ruritan’s Fall Spaghetti Luncheon will be held from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and homemade dessert. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Tickets available from any club member and at the door.

Kiwanis Club of North Richmond to hold a Brunswick Stew Sale

The Kiwanis Club of North Richmond will hold a Brunswick Stew Sale from 8 a.m. until sold out at the Sparkle Car Care & Car Wash, located at 7220 Brook Rd. at the corner of Brook Road and Lakeside Avenue. Proceeds benefit children's programs in Northside and Lakeside areas of Richmond. The Brunswick stew is cooked by the North Richmond Kiwanis Club and sells for $7 per quart.

At the first-place winners recital in Weill Hall, Matija will perform Giacomo Puccini’s opera aria, “Chi il bel sogna di doretta.” She will perform with other vocalists from around the world and have the opportunity to win other awards and scholarships.

The Urban Tavern opened in August, replacing the former Shackelford’s space at 10498 Ridgefield Parkway in Short Pump. Because of local and longtime devotion to Shackleford’s, Urban Tavern has some big shoes to fill.
Without any background information, I headed to the restaurant for dinner on a Wednesday night, two months after its opening.
