Second annual Innsbrook Taste of Virginia planned at Innsbrook Pavilion

The second annual Innsbrook Taste of Virginia will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Innsbrook Pavilion, 4901 Lakebrook Dr. Taste of Virginia is a family-friendly food festival showcasing delicious dishes from local restaurants, each competing for the honorary “Taste of Virginia” title, as well as awards for other significant categories. Each restaurant competitor will be providing a $3 sample plate of their signature dish from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., as well as additional menu items for purchase during the festival. Enjoy live music by Whiskey Rebellion, Soul Expressions and The Silver Bullets. There will also be an artisan market with craft vendors and local businesses, a Kid’s Zone with moon bounces and corn hole, and the evening will conclude with fireworks. Gallmeyer Farms to host 5th annual Sweet Corn & Watermelon Festival

Henricus’ Discovery Day Program Series to highlight 17th-century food

The Henricus Historical Park’s Discovery Day Program Series continues with “Food of the 17th Century: Learn about what breakfast, lunch and dinner might look like for a Powhatan Indian or English colonist.” The program, designed for children ages 3-10, is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities will include a story, short tour and activities in the historic site, and a make-and-take craft. Stay as little or as long as you like. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The series concludes Aug. 24. Admission is $10 per child and $7 per adult.
