Citizen Staff Reports 06/17/11
Following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “critical” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “non-critical” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.
Extra Billy's Barbecue, 5205 West Broad Street – Five critical violations reported (observed a male employee handle dirty dishes, then handle clean dishes; found a stainless steel pan of soup that was covered with mold; several foods in the walk-in vault stored between 47-53 degrees; boxes of raw brisket/raw hamburger patties stored at 50-53 degrees; a large lexan container of cooked wings with a lid date of May 3 and the container had a 5/5 date; boxes of single serve cups/containers left on the storage room floor) and nine non-critical violations reported.
Rackets Grill, 1703 Raintree Drive – No critical violations reported and seven non-critical violations reported.
Bar Louie Richmond, 11788 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (observed food debris on underside of mixer head) and five non-critical violations reported.
Tripps Restaurant, 9318 West Broad Street – Two critical violations reported (server handled soiled dishes and did not wash hands before going back to work; observed cold TCS food held above 41 degrees) and three non-critical violations reported.
La Cabaña, 4086 Crockett Street – One critical violation reported (several containers of prepared TCS food stored in the refrigerator for less than 24 hours were not date marked) and one non-critical violation reported.
Hermitage Grill, 6010 Hermitage Road – No violations reported.
Antioch Recreation Association, 4310 Redbank Road – One critical violation reported (unlabeled spray bottle) and seven non-critical violations reported.
The Sandstonian, 400 West Williamsburg Road – One critical violation reported (cappicola and salami stored at 45.9 degrees, pastrami stored at 45 degrees and bread pudding at room temperature) and eight non-critical violations reported.
Mimi’s Cafe, 11275 West Broad Street – No violations reported.
Dominion Club, 6000 Dominion Club Drive – One critical violation reported (Cols TCS food was held above 41 degrees: vegetable beans at 60 degrees, egg wash at 67 degrees and corned beef at 56.3 degrees) and four non-critical violations reported.
Dairy Queen, 10101 Brook Road – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Yen Ching, 9033 West Broad Street – Two critical violations reported (a bucket of soiled water sat on a rear storage shelving – cook line – and the food handler stated that he washed his hands/dipped his hands in it after touching raw meat; a large bus pan of egg rolls were stored in the low boy refrigeration unit that might have been kept for at least three days) and nine non-critical violations reported.
Vinny’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria, 3434 Lauderdale Drive – No violations reported.
Subway, 11234 Patterson Avenue – Two critical violations reported (observed employee washing but not sanitizing; spray bottles of degreaser and restroom cleaner was stored above and with clean containers) and four non-critical violations reported.
Regal Cinemas at Short Pump, 11650 West Broad Street – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Da Lat Restaurant Inc., 9125-L West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (beef found at 44 degrees in bottom of sandwich unit, shrimp and chicken stored on top of containers in the top of the sandwich unit without any refrigeration) and no non-critical violations reported.
TGI Friday's Inc., West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (cold TCS foods, potato salad and herb butter, held above 41 degrees) and five non-critical violations reported.
