Restaurant Watch

The following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “critical” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “non-critical” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.

Aug. 15
Ledo Pizza & Pasta, 4030 Gathering Place – One critical violation reported (meat and cut tomatoes in both top and bottom of pizza unit observed at improper temperatures) and no non-critical violations reported. 
Penn Station East Coast Subs, 9320 West Broad Street – No violations reported. 
Great Steak & Potato Company, 10101 Brook Road – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Rose Marie Inn, 8923 Patterson Avenue – One critical violation reported (lack of date markings observed on foods in the cook line low boy refrigeration units/cook line reach-in unit) and one non-critical violation reported.
Sam’s Club, 4500 South Laburnum Avenue – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
TGI Friday’s, 4459 South Laburnum Avenue – One critical violation reported (bruschetta and butter at saute line and ribs, potato salad, and burger in reach-in observed at improper temperatures) and two non-critical violations reported.
Wellpoint-Davis Center, 2015 Staples Mill Road – Two critical violations reported (employee observed eating while working, drinking from a cup without a straw; cheese in prep refrigerator at deli observed at improper temperature) and one non-critical violation reported.
Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers, 5212 Brook Road – Two critical violations reported (dented cans of chili beans found on shelf; no labels found on prepped ready-to-eat food products) and no non-critical violations reported.

Aug. 16
Chick-Fil-A, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Cracker Barrel, 3620 Mayland Court – No violations reported.
Full Kee Restaurant, 6400 Horsepen Road – Four critical violations (bowl of large raw fish observed stored adjacent to/touching tray of custard desserts; soiled sieves/strainers observed stored on wall rack; foods observed in sliding glass door refrigeration unit – chitterlings, noodles – at improper temperatures; several foods observed in refrigeration units with no date markings) and no non-critical violations reported. 
Mama Cucina, 4028-O Cox Road – No violations reported.
Martin’s Food Market, 7129 Staples Mill Road – One critical violation reported (turkey reheated for hot holding observed at improper temperatures in steam table shortly after reheated) and no non-critical violations reported.
Mexico Restaurant, 4040G Cox Road – No violations reported.
Starbucks Coffee Company, 3820 Gaskins Road – No violations reported.
Sticks Kebob Shop, 1700 Willow Lawn Drive – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.

Aug. 17
Cheeburger Cheeburger, 11363 Nuckols Road – Two critical violations reported (employee observed failing to wash hands before putting on new gloves; stored lexan containers observed dirty) and no non-critical violations reported.
China King Buffet, 4935 Nine Mile Road – Two critical violations reported (some items in sliding glass door cooler – tofu, sweet/sour chicken – observed at improper temperatures; no date labels observed on prepared foods – seafood salad, noodles, etc.) and no non-critical violations reported.
Edwards’ Catering, 8308 Fredonia Road – No violations reported.
Nine Mile Subway, 3606 Nine Mile Road – No critical violations reported and three non-critical violations reported.
Noorani Kabab House, 2757 Hungary Spring Road – No violations reported.
Roy’s Big Burger, 5200 Lakeside Avenue – No violations reported.
Villa Pizza, 11800 West Broad Street – Two critical violations reported (hot TCS foods – spaghetti and lasagna – and cold TCS food – salads with sliced tomato – observed being held at improper temperatures) and three non-critical violations reported.

Aug. 18
Jay’s Grill, 4917 Nine Mile Road – One critical violation reported (unlabeled open packages of hot dogs observed) and three non-critical violations reported. 
New Jubilee Educational & Family Life Center, 1708 Byron Street – No violations reported.
Red Lobster, 4415 South Laburnum Avenue – One critical violation reported (observed lobster roll at improper temperatures in the server line refrigerated well) and no non-critical violations reported.
