Restaurant watch

The following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “critical” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “non-critical” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.

FEB. 19
Annie Mac's Kitchen, 7801 West Broad Street – No violations reported.
Bubba's Restaurant, 4000 Williamsburg Road – One critical violation reported (country gravy found at improper temperature) and five non-critical violations reported.
Carini Italian Restaurant, 3718 Williamsburg Road – One critical violation reported (raw eggs stored above cooked peppers and tuna salad) and no non-critical violations reported.
Flamers Charbroiled Hamburger & Chicken, 1404 North Parham Road – No violations reported.
Henrico Employee Cafeteria, 4301 East Parham Road – No violations reported.
New Asian Panda, 10430 Ridgefield Parkway – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Sakura Japan, 11800 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (mixer bowl found dirty) and four non-critical violations reported.
Shoney's, 10093 Brook Road – One critical violation reported (sliced ham in drawers found at improper temperatures ) and two non-critical violations reported.
Top's China, 5660 Brook Road – One critical violation reported (large bowls of General Tso chicken in walk-in unit found at improper temperature) and no non-critical violations reported.

FEB. 20
Anokha Indian Cuisine, 4015 Lauderdale Drive – One critical violation reported (employee found cutting grape tomatoes for salad without gloves) and no non-critical violations reported.
Chestnut Grove, 9010 Woodman Road – No violations reported.
Ci Ci's Pizza, 4360 South Laburnum Avenue – Two critical violations reported (employee used bare hands to take ice from ice machine; unidentified chemical found in a spray bottle) and seven non-critical violations reported.
Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa, 12042 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (TCS foods on hot line – au jus, gravy, French onion – found at improper temperatures) and no non-critical violations reported.
Ironfish, 3061 Lauderdale Drive – No critical violations reported and four non-critical violations reported.
Knockout Cheese Steak, 1404 North Parham Road – No violations reported.
O'Charley's Restaurant, 9990 Brook Road – No violations reported.
Pizza Hut, 9020-B Quioccasin Road – No violations reported.
Ruby Tuesday's, 9830 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (spray chemical containers found improperly stored over soda box tower and over speed rack with trays of potatoes) and four non-critical violations reported.

FEB. 21
Mamma Felicia's Ristorante, 9681 West Broad Street – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Mr. Wong's II, 8715 Shrader Road – No critical violations reported and five non-critical violations reported.
Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, 7113 West Broad Street – Three critical violations reported (two workers observed not washing hands prior to beginning another task after busing tables and returning dirty dishes to dish area; meat skewers and knives in rack found soiled; half and half in drink station reach-in found at improper temperature) and four non-critical violations reported.
Panera Bread, 9960 Brook Road – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet, 9043 West Broad Street – Three critical violations reported (bottle with top/coffee cup with lid found at waitress station – waitress drinking; oyster shucking apparatus found soiled to sight/touch with dried encrusted food debris and three tongs hanging on pipes adjacent to cook line soiled with dried encrusted food debris; cooked baby octopus found on the bar at improper temperature, manager/cook unsure of exact time when placed on the bar) and seven non-critical violations reported.
Umami Coffee & Tea, 6920 Lakeside Avenue – One critical violation reported (several salads, prepared items in cold hold were out of date) and one non-critical violation reported.
