Latin Ballet Presents “El Dia de los Muertos” Festival at Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen


The Latin Ballet of Virginia will present a weekend of Hispanic heritage at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. El Dia de los Muertos Festival, a family-focused event, will be held Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The “Day of the Dead” is a celebration of one of the most traditional Mexican festivities and embraces the cycle of life. There will be music, arts and crafts, food, vendors, dancing, art exhibits and more. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Admission is free. The Latin Ballet of Virginia will also perform “MACONDO” at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21-22 and at 3 p.m. on Oct. 23. “MACONDO” is a performing arts interpretation based on the novel “Cien Anos de Soledad” (One Hundred Years of Solitude) written by Hispanic Literature Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
