Headless Horseman returns to West Broad Village Oct. 29

West Broad Village: The Headless Horseman Returns, a free and family-friendly event featuring Halloween-themed performers, candy and children’s games, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at West Broad Village in Short Pump. There will be a variety of activities for children, including a reading of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, a visit from the Headless Horseman, face painting and more. Families are encouraged to compete in a costume contest for prizes from West Broad Village retailers. The Headless Horseman will ride through the celebration at 7 p.m. and afterward, an outdoor movie will be shown near the lawn adjacent to Aloft Hotel. Free popcorn will be served and guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating. Free parking will be available. West Broad Village is also hosting a Facebook photo contest to find the best new pumpkin head for the Headless Horseman. "The Progressed Moon" by Lynn Koiner is the focus of a workshop sponsored by the Richmond Chapter of the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR) at 1 p.m. at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center. Koiner will focus on the aspects made by the progressed Moon to natal and progressed planets; the Moon’s movement through the signs and houses as a cycle of emotional needs.
