Citizen Staff Reports 09/20/12
The following are routine and complaint inspection reports for Henrico County food establishments inspected recently by the Henrico Health Department, according to Virginia Department of Health guidelines. Deficiencies are noted as “critical” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “non-critical” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Unless noted, all reported violations were corrected at the time of inspection or shortly thereafter.
Burger City, 10101 Brook Road – Four critical violations reported (person in charge did not pass DOK; raw burgers found stored over produce in walk-in; no sanitizer found in three-compartment sink; no consumer advisory found for burgers) and three non-critical violations reported.
Ci Ci’s Pizza, 4360 South Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported.
Cookie Monster Cafe, 1571 Darbytown Road – No violations reported.
Fas Mart, 11390 Nuckols Road – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Glen Allen Bistro, 10209 Staples Mill Road – One critical violation reported (slicer found with dried food on back of blade and guards) and no non-critical violations reported.
Golden Living Center-Elizabeth Adam Crump, 3600 Mountain Road – No violations reported.
IHOP Restaurant, 4840 South Laburnum Avenue – No violations reported.
Paradise Biryani Pointe, 3621 Cox Road – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Balkan Restaurant, 8905 Patterson Avenue – One critical violation reported (produce atop/adjacent to raw meats) and no non-critical violations reported.
Cracker Barrel, 3620 Mayland Court – One critical violation reported (food debris found in metal pans stored on clean pan rack) and no non-critical violations reported.
Greek Islands Restaurant, 9503-C West Broad Street – No critical violations reported and five non-critical violations reported.
KFC/Long John Silvers, 8810 Patterson Avenue – One critical violation reported (two chicken wash baskets in walk-in vault/basket at the wash station with blue handles observed soiled with encrusted food debris) and no non-critical violations reported.
New Bridge Baptist Church Child Care Center, 5807 Nine Mile Road – No violations reported.
Red Lobster, 8009 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (fish cooked to improper temperature put in window for service) and no non-critical violations reported.
Top’s China Restaurant, 68 South Airport Drive – Two critical violations reported (employee observed washing and rinsing a cleaver but failing to sanitize it; food – tofu, noodles in prep unit, sprouts, large batches of raw pork – observed at improper temperatures) and no non-critical violations reported.
Ming’s Dynasty, 1200 North Concord Avenue – Three critical violations reported (raw chicken observed stored above cooked shrimp; eggs pooled at improper temperatures; plastic container of egg rolls found without date label) and one non-critical violation reported.
