Plaza Azteca Restaurantes Mexicanos, 6623 West Broad Street – Eight critical violations reported (waiter observed drinking from open glass while working, coffee observed in open cup in prep area; abuse of gloves observed – worker placed a glove in his mouth while donning the other one, another worker was observed shredding cheese and placing gloved finger in mouth; improper reheating procedures: refried beans on steam table, tamales, queso at improper temperatures, worker observed reheating potatoes – 134 degrees – on stove top but did not check temperature and did not know temperature to reheat to; chicken, refried beans in walk-in found at improper temperatures – apparently these were removed from warmer and placed directly into walk-in night before; grill drawer found not working: chicken, steak, frozen tenders at improper temperatures; multiple containers of cooked meats – beef, carnitas – found in walk-in that had dates exceeding seven-day shelf life; unlabeled spray bottle of bleach found; sanitizer at bar observed at improper level) and no non-critical violations reported.
Sandston Bistro & Shake, 18 East Williamsburg Road – Two critical violations reported (some foods – BBQ, hot dog chili, pasta, tomatoes – at improper temperatures inside walk-in, possibly due to open door from a delivery; dipper well inlet below flood rim level of well) and two non-critical violations reported.
