Deficiencies are noted as “critical” (posing a direct or immediate threat to the safety of the food being served) or “non-critical” (representing a failure of cleaning or maintenance). Inspections represent only a snapshot of the establishment on a specific date and time and may not be representative of its overall cleanliness, according to the VDH. Cracker Barrel, 3620 Mayland Court – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Famous Dave's Restaurant, 7009 West Broad Street – No critical violations reported and two non-critical violations reported.
Feathernesters, 6118 Lakeside Avenue – No violations reported.
Friendly's Restaurant, 8040 West Broad Street – One critical violation reported (items in top wells of prep unit – tomatoes, turkey, salsa, tuna – observed at improper temperatures) and no non-critical violations reported.
Greek Grill Cafe, 2313 Westwood Avenue – One critical violation reported (raw meat found over spanikopita and raw shell eggs found over cucumbers) and no non-critical violations reported.
Halligan Bar & Grill, 2451 Old Brick Road – One critical violation reported (no sanitizer detected in dishmachine ) and one non-critical violation reported.
Kabab Bistro, 7801 West Broad Street – No violations reported.
Kindred Hospital, 2220 Edward Holland Drive – No critical violations reported and one non-critical violation reported.
Lantern House Restaurant, 7430 Brook Road – One critical violation reported (numerous containers found that did not have a date for use by or date made) and no non-critical violations reported.
Me'kong Restaurant, 6004 West Broad Street – Two critical violations reported (bean sprouts on ice found at improper temperature; no date labels found on prepared/thawed cooked items – pork, tofu, dumplings, etc.) and three non-critical violations reported.
Moe's Southwest Grill, 10839 West Broad Street – No critical violations reported and three non-critical violations reported.
Plaza Azteca Restaurantes Mexicanos, 6623 West Broad Street – Eight critical violations reported (waiter observed drinking from open glass while working, coffee observed in open cup in prep area; abuse of gloves observed – worker placed a glove in his mouth while donning the other one, another worker was observed shredding cheese and placing gloved finger in mouth; improper reheating procedures: refried beans on steam table, tamales, queso at improper temperatures, worker observed reheating potatoes – 134 degrees – on stove top but did not check temperature and did not know temperature to reheat to; chicken, refried beans in walk-in found at improper temperatures – apparently these were removed from warmer and placed directly into walk-in night before; grill drawer found not working: chicken, steak, frozen tenders at improper temperatures; multiple containers of cooked meats – beef, carnitas – found in walk-in that had dates exceeding seven-day shelf life; unlabeled spray bottle of bleach found; sanitizer at bar observed at improper level) and no non-critical violations reported.
Sandston Bistro & Shake, 18 East Williamsburg Road – Two critical violations reported (some foods – BBQ, hot dog chili, pasta, tomatoes – at improper temperatures inside walk-in, possibly due to open door from a delivery; dipper well inlet below flood rim level of well) and two non-critical violations reported.

Dairy Queen, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive – One critical violation reported (chili observed in hot holding unit at improper temperature) and no non-critical violations reported.
Genova Pizza Express, 8936 Quioccasin Road – Three critical violations reported (employees failed to wash hands prior to donning gloves; worker observed handling steak rolls and toast with bare hands; fresh garlic chopped and placed in oil, left-side sandwich make table items – grilled chicken, cappicola, turkey, wings – at improper temperatures) and one non-critical violation reported.
M Bistro and Wine Bar, 4821 Old Main Street – Five critical violations reported (drink found in kitchen without straw; stock on stove found at improper temperature; ham slices found at improper temperature inside make table; a lot of food – foie gras, key lime pie, bread pudding, corn pudding, spoon bread, creme brulee – found undated; spray bottle of bleach cleaner found hanging over food grade plastic wrap) and one non-critical violation reported.
