Muse Paintbar opens at Willow Lawn


Muse Paintbar, which combines painting instruction with a wine bar and restaurant, opened June 23 at The Shops at Willow Lawn in Henrico. The location is the company's 17th nationwide.

Guests can learn from local artists while sampling a wide selection of wine, beer and tapas. The facility held a soft-launch last weekend, allowing patrons a sneak peek at the studio’s artistic offerings.

Muse anticipates expansion across the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area this summer. Other locations are spread throughout the Northeast.

Special Olympics’ ‘Polar Plunge’ set for Feb. 27 at Willow Lawn


The Special Olympics of Virginia will create a splash at Willow Lawn later this month.

The organization is hosting its annual RVA Plunge Winter Fest at The Shops at Willow Lawn Saturday, Feb. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. It will be the event's first year at the new location.

RVA Plunge Winter Fest invites "plungers" to dress in summer attire or zany costumes, then jump into icy pools at 2:30 p.m. Students from universities and schools will test the waters during the Cool-legiate and Cool School Challenge. Richmond Police Chief Alfed Durham and Chesterfield Police Chief Thierry Dupuis will lead their departments to the tip of the iceberg as they take an icy dip for the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
