After three decades of delighting Richmond residents with his delectable Greek cuisine, Chef and Restauranteur Abdul Abdel-Hady finally has a location in the West End! Athens West is the newest endeavor for the former owner and chef of Athens Tavern on North Robinson Street in the fan. With multiple NBC restaurant report Hall of Fame Awards, and recognition from the City of Richmond for food safety excellence, this is a new spot in your neck of the woods that you don’t want to miss.

Abdul is well known by his regular customers for his off menu specials. Seafood entrees always rise to the top of the list with dishes such as Whole Red Snapper, Sautéed Mussels, and Stuffed Rockfish just to name a few. But if you’re in the mood for some of the more tried and true Greek fare don’t you worry, we’ve got you covered. Heaping portions of Moussaka and Pastichio, perfectly crisped Spanakopita and Tiropita, and a lamb stew, Arnaki, that melts in your mouth. Marinated to perfection, our Pork or Chicken Souvlaki will never disappoint.

On May 1, Athens West will be opening for lunch offering sizzling thin crust pizzas, grilled steak and chicken subs, as well as mouthwatering Gyros and Souvlaki Pitas. Also in May, we will be serving brunch on Saturday mornings, from chef Todd Beals. Our brunch menu will feature items such as the warm and hearty Hummus Melt, and the savory Athens Benedict. The restaurant also has Greek desserts that will leave you wanting more. We serve a full selection of Greek wine and beer, with a full bar and cocktail menu coming soon. Natalie’s Taste of Lebanon

Natalie’s Taste of Lebanon is one of the newest and most exciting additions to the Henrico restaurant scene. This family-owned restaurant opened its doors in December 2016 and has been earning rave reviews for its fresh and delicious home cooking as well as its beautiful décor featuring authentic art pieces from the old Souk in Beirut. You will be greeted by Natalie herself and will enjoy Chef Omar’s traditional Lebanese cuisine served with the legendary Lebanese hospitality. Your meal will start with freshly baked warm pita bread served with a thyme and sesame dip. Choose from over 20 appetizer dishes including tabouleh, grape leaves, falafel, hummus and Baba Ghannouj. Entrees include shawarma, lamb dishes, Kebabs, as well as Manakeesh (flatbreads). The wine list features some of the best wines from the Bekaa valley of Lebanon. Be sure to leave room for dessert, especially Chef Omar’s zalabiyeh (fried doughnuts) and knefeh (cheese dessert). Head Chef/Owner Claudius Charles is bringing authentic Western Caribbean flavor from St. Lucia, St. Thomas and Trinidad to the Henrico Westend. Charles’ Kitchen opened in March 2016 to serve fresh family meals, made with bold and savory Caribbean herbs and spices. Menu favorites include St. Lucian Chicken, Oxtails, Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, Roti, Red Snapper, King Fish, and Curry Shrimp. Fresh Saltfish, Aloo, Curry Chicken, and Curry Beef patties make a great snack. Raw and hot vegan/vegetarian options are available. For a special treat, ask Chef to create a vegan/vegetarian meal, sure to satisfy your taste buds. Housemade beverages include Sorrel, Guava Punch and Peanut Punch. In house desserts include Mango Coconut Cake, Banana Bread, Coconut Rolls and more. Chef Charles’ team includes Chef B from Trinidad and Pastry Chef Keya from Maryland. Most of the recipes at India K' Raja have been passed down through family. Others are Chef/Owner, Tony Sappal's original creations like Chicken Pasanda (a delicious creamy mango sauce); Crab Masala (a Special Crab delicacy with Indian flavors); and Lamb Rangeela (a zesty tomato spinach sauce) which are not available anywhere else in the world. All of the restaurant's dishes are made with fresh ingredients, herbs, and spices. Depending on the dish, you may distinctly taste coconut, lemon, mango, cumin, fennel, tamarind, mustard, fenugreek, peppers, tomatoes, onions and more. Traditional Indian desserts are made from scratch and Indian breads are baked fresh to order in a Clay Oven.
