Citizen Staff Reports 04/26/2012 Eastern HenricoWestern Henrico
The yard sale at Rocketts Landing will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. May 5 in the Cedar Works parking lot at the corner of Route 5 & Orleans Street. Organizers are looking for donated items to sell (donate by May 2; details below), as well as shoppers and buyers at the sale, which will benefit the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity that helps children and young adults who need or have had a lifesaving transplant.
Although the Corbett family has lived in Durham, N.C. since October (while Isaac undergoes treatment at Duke University Medical Center) their home is in the Rocketts Landing community. Isaac was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder only days before his first birthday, and has undergone more than 60 x-rays, seven surgeries, chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
