![]() The Varina Woman’s Club will present “Adam’s Eve” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at John Rolfe Middle School, 6901 Messer Rd. All proceeds are used to support philanthropic endeavors in the community such as scholarships for deserving Varina High School graduates. Tickets are $15 and include dinner. NBC12 meteorologist Andrew Freiden will emcee and a panel of local celebrity judges will select the winning pair, all for the benefit of Children’s Hospital of Richmond. Tickets are $50 for the competition alone or $100, which will include an after-party at the Michaux House. Women can shop for the latest styles in clothing, jewelry and handbags, watch a fashion show, enjoy a makeover, receive home décor tips, sample gourmet foods and more. Special guests include fitness expert Denise Austin, design expert Kathy Peterson and Johnathan Kayne of Project Runway Season 3. The Virginia Indian Intertribal Drum and Dancers will perform traditional and contemporary tribal dances and also discuss the significance of the regalia they wear and each dance they perform. Leigh St. In honor of the sesquicentennial commemoration of the Civil War and the end of slavery, more than 100 singers in the interracial community chorus will perform African-American spirituals and other songs by African-American composers, past and present. The audience is invited to a pre-concert conversation, “Harmony in Living Black and White,” at 6 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.
