![]() NOVEMBER 18 Short Pump Town Center will celebrate Santa’s arrival with a parade and Magical Tree Lighting from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the main plaza. The parade will begin near Pottery Barn, travel around the main plaza and back around to the center stage where children of all ages can jam to holiday tunes, such as Jingle Bell Rock and the Peppermint Twist. The Salvation Army Band and Susan Greenbaum will perform. A meet-and-greet with Robbie Reindeer, Mistletoe Mouse and Santa will take place in the food court. Admission is free. Friday will feature an Opening Night Wine and Cheese Reception. Heavenly Creations is a juried, fine arts show featuring original, handcrafted works from local and regional artists and craftspeople. Included in this year’s show are furniture, stoneware, children’s clothing, photography, fresh wreaths, woodcarvings, quilts, sculptures, jewelry, baked goods and canned foods. NOVEMBER 19 The Church of the Redeemer, 8275 Meadowbridge Rd. in Mechanicsville, will hold its 30th annual Craft Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Over 100 vendors will have homemade crafts and baked goods for sale and there will be also be a cakewalk, raffles, visits with Santa and a Secret Santa Shop where children can shop. NOVEMBER 20 In honor of Henrico’s 400th anniversary and the History Center’s new exhibition, “Into Focus: Henrico County through the Camera,” Henrico County Day will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Valentine Richmond History Center, 1015 E. Clay St. The exhibition documents the county’s five districts of Brookland, Fairfield, Three Chopt, Tuckahoe and Varina and includes photographs from historic sites such as the J.E.B. Stuart Monument at Yellow Tavern, as well as everyday life in Henrico, including the county’s malls, bridges, private homes, retail centers, schools and transportation centers. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

Veteran restaurateur set to open in Short Pump
Tran’s Pho 1 Grill will serve Vietnamese fare

Paul Tran, along with his wife Ellen will open up Pho 1 Grill, a Vietnamese restaurant, in June in the Towne Center West Shopping Center.
Tran has been serving up Vietnamese food since the mid-’80s, his first being Que Huong on Rigsby Road. He also owned Mr. Chan’s on Horsepen Road and Saigon Gourmet on Hull Street Road. > Read more.
