![]() OCT. 12 Coordinators2inc, a nonprofit lifetime adoption resource located in Henrico, will hold its fifth annual golf tournament at 8 a.m. at The Crossings Golf Club in Glen Allen. The event will include practice range balls, 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, beverage tickets, prizes and more. Proceeds will support the Waiting Child Program which works to find homes for kids in foster care. This family and community event hopes to raise awareness, educate people about mental illness and celebrate hope and wellness. The 5K walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. Registration is free but walkers are encouraged to fundraise. There will also be children’s activities, vendors, raffles, music, Nutzy from the Flying Squirrels, food and more. For details, visit http://www.nami.org/walks . *** Lakeside Avenue’s first ever outdoor music festival “Jammin’ on the Ave” will start at 11 a.m. at the corner of Lakeside Avenue and Clarke Street. The Five and Dimers, Cha-Cha’s Cadillac and Roadkill Roy will provide entertainment. There will be a moon bounce and face painting for the kids, as well as vendors, food and beer. Admission is a $5 donation to Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad. *** The Henrico High School 50th Anniversary Warrior Jubilee Celebration will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K run/walk at the school. A special program of art, music and dance, at which many of the school’s original and former faculty will be recognized, will be held at 11 a.m. in the auditorium. Author David Baldacci and “Tonight Show” comedian Brett Leake will speak. The festivities will conclude with catered dining in the school’s cafeterias, a display of school memorabilia and tours of the Henrico High School campus. Fan Care offers heat relief to seniors

Qualifying senior citizens can receive free relief from summer heat through the 23rd annual Fan Care program, which provides fans and cooling assistance to seniors 60 and older in need.
The program is an initiative of Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging for seniors who meet income eligibility requirements and have a situation that threatens their health. > Read more.
