Coordinators2inc, a nonprofit lifetime adoption resource located in Henrico, will hold its fifth annual golf tournament at 8 a.m. at The Crossings Golf Club in Glen Allen. The event will include practice range balls, 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, beverage tickets, prizes and more. The National Alliance on Mental Illness will host NAMIWalks Virginia at 9 a.m. at 4951 Lake Brook Dr. in Innsbrook. This family and community event hopes to raise awareness, educate people about mental illness and celebrate hope and wellness. The 5K walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. Registration is free but walkers are encouraged to fundraise. Lakeside Avenue’s first ever outdoor music festival “Jammin’ on the Ave” will start at 11 a.m. at the corner of Lakeside Avenue and Clarke Street. The Five and Dimers, Cha-Cha’s Cadillac and Roadkill Roy will provide entertainment. There will be a moon bounce and face painting for the kids, as well as vendors, food and beer. Admission is a $5 donation to Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad.

The Henrico High School 50th Anniversary Warrior Jubilee Celebration will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K run/walk at the school. A special program of art, music and dance, at which many of the school’s original and former faculty will be recognized, will be held at 11 a.m. in the auditorium. Author David Baldacci and “Tonight Show” comedian Brett Leake will speak. The festivities will conclude with catered dining in the school’s cafeterias, a display of school memorabilia and tours of the Henrico High School campus. The Pamunkey River Garden Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 8209 Shady Grove Rd., in rooms 111-113. Jewish a cappella groups Six13 and the Maccabeats will perform at 3:30 p.m. in Richmond Camp Concert Hall at the University of Richmond. Holidays will delay some CVWMA collections


CVWMA curbside recycling collection and trash collections will have a one day delay in collections Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1-2. There will be no collections on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

Curbside recycling collections Monday through Wednesday will be on regular schedule. Red Thursday and Red Friday curbside recyclers will have a one day delay in collection services Dec. 25-26. Blue Thursday and Blue Friday curbside recyclers will have one day delay in collection services Jan. 1-2. Containers should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day. MADD to host candlelight vigil Dec. 2 at UR

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will host a candlelight vigil of remembrance and hope Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the University of Richmond, outside the Cannon Chapel. The public is invited to attend and join MADD to honor victims of impaired driving crashes, while helping to remind the community to be safe during the holidays. > Read more.

Several holiday performances take place this weekend in Henrico including “It’s a Wonderful Life” and Theatre IV on Tour’s “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” – both at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. One of the most unique holiday traditions in Henrico, the James River Parade of Lights, takes place tomorrow. The viewing spot in Henrico will be at Osborne Park in Varina.
