University of Richmond will host the popular Family Weekend Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Camp Concert Hall, Booker Hall of Music. Henrico Humane Society’s fifth annual Bark in the Park will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dorey Park, 2999 Darbytown Rd. A 2K dog walk will begin at 11 a.m. There will also be live music, children’s activities, pet-related vendors, a pet costume contest and more. Dogs will enjoy the new, fully-fenced-in Dorey Dog Park which features dog exercise equipment, “misting stations” disguised as fire hydrants and low water fountains just for pets. The Festival of India will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 29-30 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. There will be classical and modern live performances, as well as East-West fusion dance and music. Traditional Indian clothing, jewelry, movies, music and souvenirs will be available for purchase and a variety of Indian cuisine, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies, will be prepared fresh in front of patrons.
