The 54th annual Armenian Food Festival will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 21-22 and from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at St. James Armenian Church, 834 Pepper Ave. Authentic Armenian dishes like stuffed grape leaves, bulghur salad and Armenian green beans, and signature pastries such as simit (tea cookie), bourma (rolled philo filled with walnuts) and khourabia (sweet cookie) will be available for purchase. Crossroads Art Center, 2016 Staples Mill Rd., will hold its September Indoor Artwalk and Artist Reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors will learn from the artists what inspires them to create their works of art. Featured artists include Kate McConnell and Duane Cregger, as well as artists participating in the Virginia Collage Society Show. Casey McCue and Steve Duncan will provide music. The Chrysalis Group will hold its Autumnal Equinox Labyrinth Walk from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Chrysalis Outdoor Labyrinth, located on the grounds of Union Theological Seminary. An ancient, mystical tool, the labyrinth is used by many cultures and religious traditions. Participants should allow 45-60 minutes for the experience. Admission is free but donations are welcome. The Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond will show an encore presentation of National Theatre Live’s “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” at 7:30 p.m. This new production offers a richly theatrical exploration of the touching and bleakly humorous novel by Mark Haddon and will be broadcast from the National’s smallest theatre, the Cottesloe. The League of Women Voters Richmond Metropolitan Area will hold a League Day from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Tuckahoe Library, 1901 Starling Dr. Charles Judd, chairman of the State Board of Elections, will speak on the new voter ID laws and changes that have been made. The Children’s Museum of Richmond and HCA Virginia will host Family Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HCA VA West Creek Emergency Center, 12720 Tuckahoe Creek Ct. 10th annual Filipino Festival coming in August


The 10th Annual Filipino Festival will be held Aug. 7-8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 8200 Woodman Rd., beginning with opening ceremonies at 5 p.m. Friday and continuing with live entertainment, food and exhibits until 10 p.m. On Saturday the festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a full schedule of performances featuring traditional Filipino dance, music and song.

Filipino cuisine, including BBQ, pansit, lumpia, adobo, halo-halo, lechon, empanada and leche flan, will be available for purchase. The festival will also feature a children's area, church tours, exhibits, and health screenings. > Read more.

ZZ Top, The Beach Boys, O.A.R., others to play Innsbrook


Innsbrook After Hours will welcome ZZ Top, The Beach Boys, O.A.R. and other performers this month.

On Aug. 12, Tyler Farr, with special guest Parmalee, will perform at 6 p.m., with gates opening at 5 p.m. Farr began his career with years of formal voice training with the OAKE National Choir but at 21, he moved to Nashville. Tickets are $15 to $99.
