Brides Against Breast Cancer, a nationwide tour of gowns to benefit those impacted by cancer, will hold a charity designer wedding gown sale Aug. 17-18 at Omni Richmond Hotel, 100 S. 12th St. There will be more than 1,000 gowns for sale with savings between 25-85 percent. General admission hours are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 17 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 18. Admission is free but tickets are required. For details, visit http://www.bridesabc.org .

AUGUST 18
The third annual GWAR-B-Q will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Hadad’s Lake, 7900 Osborne Tnpk. in Varina. Featured bands include GWAR, Strike Anywhere, Lionize, Lost Tribe, Antietam 1862, Black Naked Wings and more. Funds raised will benefit Ring Dog Rescue. Admission is $25 to $75 for all-day entry. Women Empowering Women – Diamonds in the Rough will host the Pamper Me Pretty Expo from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Airport in Sandston. Mothers, daughters and friends are invited to spend the day together networking, shopping and pampering. Vendors include Mary Kay, Avon, Lia Sophia, Thirty-One Gifts and more. Popular Short Pump spot offers upscale comfort, flavors
The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
