St. Mary’s for Kids’ Movies on the Avenues continues with “Kung Fu Panda” at 8:30 p.m. The free outdoor movie will be shown at the Westhampton School’s playing fields, 5800 Patterson Ave. at Maple Avenue. The Henrico Theatre Company will present the musical comedy “The Cocoanuts” July 13-29 at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. Brush up on your slap-stick because the Marx Brothers are back and infiltrating the Florida real estate boom circa 1920. All performances begin at 8 p.m. except for Sunday matinees, which begin at 2:30 p.m. An additional performance will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. Henricus Historical Park, located at 251 Henricus Park Rd. in Chester, will present a Civil War Living History Day featuring the Bermuda Hundred Campaign from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Living historians will relive the summer of 1864 at Dutch Gap by demonstrating infantry weapons and tactics, combat engineering and fortifications, cannon drills and the life of civilian women during the Bermuda Hundred Campaign. African dancing and drumming has been known for centuries for its power to bring family, friends and communities closer. The African Aerobics, or “Afrobics,” class will be held from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. The traditional West African Dance Class will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Classes are suitable for all experience levels and ages. Popular Short Pump spot offers upscale comfort, flavors
The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way. Its walk-in wine “humidor” in plain view from the bar offers more than 85 wines by the glass ($6-$65) and about 250 by the bottle ($28 and up), with some emphasis on Italian wines.
