The Richmond Battlefield Ruritan Club will host its 20th annual Great Varina Shrimp & Fish Feast at 5:30 p.m. at the south end of Warwick Park Rd. Chamberlayne Actors Theatre, 319 N. Wilkinson Rd., will present the last production in their 48th season “Catfish Moon” at 8 p.m. May 18-19. The light-hearted comedy takes place on the end of an old fishing pier where three boyhood friends used to hang out. Now older, they reunite to share their lives. The 28th annual Lebanese Food Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 18-19 and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 20 at St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church, 4611 Sadler Rd. in Glen Allen near Innsbrook. The 4th annual Imagination Richmond will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Shops at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Dr. The event will feature live music from Silly Bus and The Diggity Dudes, as well as a special live performance from Kamp Kreatures Puppet Theatre and strolling entertainment from Jonathan the Juggler. The American Youth Harp Ensemble will present its Spring Serenade at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 2333 Hilliard Rd. The concert will feature four of AYHE’s core ensembles: the Concert Ensemble, which performed in Carnegie Hall in March; the Intermezzo Ensemble, a new addition; the Lyra Ensemble, for beginning harpists; and the Troubadour Ensemble, for elementary age students. County plans Fourth of July event


Henrico County Recreation and Parks will present “Red, White, and Lights” at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park July 4.

Henrico County has hosted a Fourth of July celebration annually since 1981, but this year’s event will offer a later start time and expanded hours and be highlighted by new entertainment.

The free event will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will feature the Richmond Symphony, a laser-light show, patriotic performances, and family activities. > Read more.

There are some great events this weekend in Henrico that will take your mind off the incredible heat. Highland Springs residents are invited to a Neighborhood Block Party with music, games, food and giveaways. The Tuckahoe Square Dance Club will host a dance at Pinchbeck Elementary School.
