Ron Moody and the Centaurs will perform at 7 p.m. at Hanover Tavern, 13181 Hanover Courthouse Rd. The outdoor concert will feature savory BBQ, grilled foods, pasta salad and drink specials available for purchase, as well as a silent auction. Proceeds from Harmony in Hanover support Hanover Tavern as a historic, educational, community and cultural resource center. Tickets are $10 and children under 10 are free. Enjoy an evening of blues music with Darryl Ellyson and Laura Baron at 7 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. The Henrico Theatre Company will perform “See How They Run” May 4-20 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. The farce by Philip King tells the story of two American actors, two maids and four clergymen. All shows begin at 8 p.m. except for Sunday matinees which are at 2:30 p.m. An additional performance will be on Saturday, May 19 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. The Asian American Society of Central Virginia will host the 15th annual Asian American Celebration “East Meets West: Celebrating Asian American Friendship” from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. Gallmeyer Farms will host its 8th annual Strawberry Fields Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3622 Darbytown Ct. in Varina. The event features fresh local strawberries and other spring vegetables, live local music, crafts vendors and local businesses, hay and pony rides, food and more. Karl Hepler will open for The Whitetop Mountaineers at 8 p.m. at the Shady Grove Coffeehouse, located at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church at 11105 Cauthorne Rd. The show features country singing, up-tempo old time fiddle, clawhammer banjo, bluegrass mandolin and guitar instrumentals, as well as high energy Appalachian dancing. Any eighth grader at Fairfield Middle School, 5121 Nine Mile Rd., who passes all SOLs will get to go to Kings Dominion. To raise money, the school is hosting Super Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day will kick-off with a community yard sale and will also include a car wash, basketball tournament, a cake walk and international bake sale, tailgating, a talent show, live music and more. The Children's Clothing Closet at Highland Springs United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 30 to provide free new or nearly new children's clothing for families in need, prior to the start of the school year. It’s a great weekend to get outside! The Pocahontas Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society is offering two events this weekend. Accompany the group to find and document native plants present and blooming in Echo Lake Park on Saturday or take a “Sunday Stroll” at Dorey Park to observe the seasonal changes taking place. Other outdoor events this weekend include the final summer concert at West Broad Village and “Fridays on the Patio” at James River Cellars Winery in Glen Allen.
