Enjoy an evening of traditional country music with The Honky Tonk Experience at 7 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, 2880 Mountain Rd. The concert is part of CACGA’s 2nd Stage Performance Series, which highlights a different musical genre on the first Friday of each month. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. The 6th annual Move Ya Feet Dance Off will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Showplace Annex, 3002 Mechanicsville Tnpk. The dance competition and exhibition will showcase the talents of over 100 local youth. This year’s theme “Hip Hop has always been here…” will take music back to its original purpose – to tell great stories of urban culture and to inspire change. The competition will feature one-on-one dance battles, free style circles and youth groups that will showcase their performing arts skills. There will also be food, photos and more. The 23rd annual Henrico 5K Run/Walk will be held at 9 a.m. rain or shine at the Shoppes at Innsbrook. Awards will be given to the top three overall males, females and finishers in each of the 13 age divisions. Celebrate Easter weekend with Peter Rabbit from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 7-8 at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, 1800 Lakeside Ave. He will greet visitors and pose for photographs in the visitor’s center, central garden and conservatory. Also on Saturday: live bunnies in the children’s garden from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the Richmond Concert Band performs an interactive child-themed melody at the Bloemendaal House at 2 p.m. Guests can also enjoy the color, fragrance and beauty of Orchids Galore in the conservatory. Every Sunday the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center will be open from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for family fun time with kids of all ages. The gym will be split in half with different sports each week on one half and a wide variety of games and activities like ping pong, billiards, air hockey and foosball on the other. HandsOn Day 2015, which will feature 1200 volunteers serving more than 65 nonprofits in Greater Richmond, will take place Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Among the projects in Henrico or surrounding communities that need volunteers are: installing GardenFest lights Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, distribution center assistance at Feedmore, pumpkin carving with residents at SupportOne, work and play at Housing Families First, paint for independence at Heart Havens, spruce up the shelter and clean sweep at Harbor House at Safe Harbor, pinwheel project at REAP and Kidney Walk prep at National Kidney Foundation Serving VA. > Read more.

Virginians who want to plant beneficial plants for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds have a new resource at their fingertips. The online Virginia Native Plant Finder now lets users search for native plant species that benefit pollinators. The tool, which is managed by the Virginia Natural Heritage Program, is free and easy to use; searches can be completed on desktops, tablets or smartphones.
Native plants are those that grow where they evolved; they have traits that enable them to adapt to local conditions. The Virginia Native Plant Finder lets users create their own custom native plant lists by selecting from dropdown menus. > Read more.
