For details, call 328-4491. *** The once-in-a-lifetime U.K. National Gallery exhibit “Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan” brings together the largest ever number of da Vinci’s paintings. Captured live at the gallery on the eve of the exhibition opening, “LEONARDO LIVE” offers an unprecedented opportunity for audiences worldwide to experience these da Vinci works. The Kids 1-Mile Run will start at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk will start at 9 a.m. Awards will be given. After the race, Dave & Buster’s will host a family festival. Advance registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children; adult registration the day of the race is $30. The 12-hour jam will feature bands Copper Ridge, Cary Street Ramblers, East of Afton, Slack Family Bluegrass, Highway 249, Some Assembly Required, River City Band and Willis River Band. Attendees are invited to bring their own instruments for jam sessions. Admission is free but donations are accepted. The Richmond Fisher House houses family members of hospitalized soldiers so they can remain close to their loved ones. The one-night-only performance will be followed by a panel discussion with the director and local Civil War experts. The play is presented as part of The Acts of Faith Festival. Fan Care offers heat relief to seniors

Qualifying senior citizens can receive free relief from summer heat through the 23rd annual Fan Care program, which provides fans and cooling assistance to seniors 60 and older in need.
The program is an initiative of Senior Connections, The Capital Area Agency on Aging for seniors who meet income eligibility requirements and have a situation that threatens their health. > Read more.
