The Chamberlayne Actors Theatre (CAT) will present its supernatural romantic comedy “The 13th of Paris” at 8 p.m. Jan. 18-19 at the CAT Playhouse, 319 N. Wilkinson Rd. The show follows Vincent, who takes a spontaneous trip from his life in Chicago to the 13th arrondissement of Paris, carrying only a suitcase filled with the surprising love letters of his late grandparents. Families are invited to the Snow Days Festival at the Children’s Museum of Richmond-Central, 2626 W. Henricus Historical Park will recognize Medal of Honor recipient 2nd Lt. Walter Thorn, 116th United States Colored Troops, for his heroic efforts in the Battle of Trent’s Reach in January 1865. Featured activities include living history demonstrations of the daily lives of soldiers and women who supported the sick and wounded; an exhibition highlighting Civil War artifacts found at Henricus; one-hour lectures beginning at 11 a.m.; tours and more. All Henrico parents and students looking for financial aid help are encouraged to attend an information session facilitated by GRASP (Great Aspirations Scholarship Program). Workers from GRASP will help parents and students completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Participants must bring paperwork with them including social security cards, drivers licenses, W-2 forms, income tax returns, current bank statements and mortgage information. The 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. session will be held at the Richmond Public Main Library, 101 E. The Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond, Corbian Arts and Light Wire Theatre will present “The Ugly Duckling & The Tortoise and the Hare” at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in Alice Jepson Theatre. Holidays will delay some CVWMA collections


CVWMA curbside recycling collection and trash collections will have a one day delay in collections Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1-2. There will be no collections on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

Curbside recycling collections Monday through Wednesday will be on regular schedule. Red Thursday and Red Friday curbside recyclers will have a one day delay in collection services Dec. 25-26. Blue Thursday and Blue Friday curbside recyclers will have one day delay in collection services Jan. 1-2. Containers should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day. MADD to host candlelight vigil Dec. 2 at UR

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will host a candlelight vigil of remembrance and hope Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the University of Richmond, outside the Cannon Chapel. The public is invited to attend and join MADD to honor victims of impaired driving crashes, while helping to remind the community to be safe during the holidays. > Read more.
