VHBG to offer ‘trunk-or-treating’ event
|
Citizen Staff Reports 10/22/12
![]() The event will invite children to fetch Halloween candy from the backs of vehicles gathered in the campus parking lot. Dozens of cars and SUVs will sport fun decorations and themes to entertain children, such as movies, sports and camping. “This event allows our children and those from the community to trick-or-treat in a safe and family environment,” said Claiborne Mason, VHBG president. The VHBG parking lot will be roped off for trunk-or-treating, and there will be painting, clowns, an inflatable rock wall and arts projects. In the event of rain, the event will be held indoors. During the event, tours of the campus will also be available. Attendees will be able to visit the group homes, alternative school and recreational facilities on campus. They’ll also learn about the intensive community-based services that VHBG offers to support children and families in their home and school. “Our staff is excited to offer this event to the community because it helps our kids build permanent healthy relationships in the community. And, it’s a great chance for the public to tour our wonderful campus,” said Mason. VHBG is located at 8716 West Broad Street. The event is free and open to the public. |
