Colonial Downs is seeking nominations for a theme for the inaugural "Dogwood Classic" (formerly the Strawberry Hill Races) racing and tailgating event that will take place at the track April 6, 2013.

Submissions will be accepted through Dec. 9 at http://www.colonialdowns.com and http://www.richmond.com.

The public will be invited to vote for a winner from among the top five theme suggestions. The person who submits the winning entry will win a reserved vehicle rail space at the Dogwood Classic.

The theme is incorporated into the way attendees dress that day, how the tailgate parties are decorated, the food and beverages that are served and the music played. A tailgate competition that day will be based upon how well the tailgate parties carry out the chosen theme.
