Summer concert series at Short Pump Town Center starts Thursday

National recording artist Toad the Wet Sprocket kicks-off the Summer Concert Series at Short Pump Town Center on Thursday, June 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the main plaza. Toad the Wet Sprocket was one of the most successful alternative rock bands in the early 90s. The band achieved fame with their album “Fear” (released in 1991) and the singles “All I Want” and “Walk on the Ocean” reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Summer Concert Series will continue every Thursday night until August 16. Admission is free. Town center retailers will offer giveaways and a $500 Short Pump Town Center gift card will be given away at each concert. Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.
The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.
